- Graduated from Fredonia in 1962, received his Master’s Degree in 1963 from Albany and earned a Doctorate in 1972 in Higher Education Administration from Penn State.
- Served the Buffalo State as Vice President for Student Affairs from 1971-76.
- As VP for Student Affairs, oversaw what is referred to as the “Golden Age” of Buffalo State Athletics.
Also served during that time as the college’s representative for the NCAA.
- Was a strong supporter of intercollegiate athletics throughout his 30-plus years at Buffalo State.
- Served the college with distinction in a number of roles, including professor; founder and coordinator of the Student Personnel Administration’s Master’s Degree program; Dean of Graduate Studies.
- Was named Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs for the college in 1997.
- Also served as Chair and Professor of Educational Foundations as well as Chair and Professor Behavioral and Humanistic Studies.
- Earned the Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Student Affairs from the American College Personnel Association.
- Earned SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
- Korean War veteran having spent 4 years in the Air Force before college.
