-Made various school records including completions in a game (27) and touchdown passes in a career (46). 

-Was named MVP of the Bengals' first post-season appearance and led the team to its first NCAA berth. 

-Led Upstate New York III in passing efficiency as a junior. 

-James was honored with the Bengal Award as the Buffalo State Athlete of the Year for the 1992-1993 season.
