1955-1958 

-Joseph Bessel ran three years of cross country and indoor and outdoor track at State.
 
-He won four straight New York State championships on the cross country team during his time with the college.
 
-Bessel held the two mile New York State record at 9:38.6 and set college records in the 440, 880, mile and two mile events.
 
-He also held the course record at eight different courses throughout the state.
