- Katzman coached, taught, and directed the Athletics Program at Erie Community College from 1950-1954 where athletics teams are still named the “KATS” in honor of their first Athletic Director.

- At Buffalo State College Katzman re-instituted baseball as a varsity sport and coached it from 1955-1960.

- He also coached Men’s Basketball to a combined record of 67-70 from 1955- 1961.
