1976-1980
- Furlani co-captained women’s swimming and diving team from 1976-1980.
- She was also the first woman in the swimming and diving program to place in the New York State Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NYSAIAW) State Meet, which included 300 competitors from 40 colleges.
- As a Freshman Mary Ann Furlani placed 11th in the 50 yard butterfly, and as a sophomore placed 10th in the event.
- As a junior, she won the 50 yard butterfly at the NYSAIAW State Meet, making her the first woman at Buffalo State College to win a State Championship in swimming and diving and qualified for AIAW Nationals.
- In Mary Ann’s senior year, she placed 4th in her even at the State meet and was the recipient of the Prestigious Ruth Houston Award for her outstanding career at Buffalo State College.
- At the time of her graduation, she held nine school records and two Kissinger pool records.
