1989-1992
- During Nate Gainey’s three year career at Buffalo State, Bengals posted a very impressive 72-13 overall record.
- Gainey guided the Bengals to SUNYAC Championships and NCAA Playoff appearances in all 3 seasons he started for the team.
-Nate started for the Bengals all three years earning All-SUNYAC honors and was twice named SUNYAC Player of the Year.
- His senior year he was recognized as a First Team All-American.
-In 1992, Nate was named the co-winner of the Hube Coyer Award for Career Excellence and was also the recipient of the Bengal award for Male Athlete of the Year in 1989-90.
