- Was a 3-sport All-American in Basketball, Soccer and Track & Field

-Randy was All-SUNYAC all three years of Buffalo State basketball
 
-He was also All-East for two years in addition
 
-Smith made the All Tournament team in NCAA finals in 1970
 
-He set over 15 college scoring and rebounding records during his career
 
- Smith was the basketball team’s leading scorer all three years

- Earned All-America honors in triple jump in 1969, setting an NCAA record of 52' 1 1/4"

- Set school record for most goals in a three-year soccer career (40)
