1954-1958
- Knapp was a member of the cross country and the indoor and outdoor track teams for 4 years and held the Buffalo State College indoor mile record his Freshman Year.
- He was a 3 time All-Conference player in cross country in 1954-55 and 1956.
- He also competed in 2 NCAA cross country runs and his team placed 14th in 1956.
- He was the senior captain of the 1956 five man team that won the National Junior 10,000 meter
Cross Country Championships, individually placing 11th out of a field of 54 runners.
