Jiak, a freshman fine arts major, made the most of his last chance, qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the 800-meter run after setting a school record with a time of 1:52.01 while crossing first at ECACs.  His time shattered the school record of 1:53.91, set by Dextan Dixon back in 1988. His converted (banked track) time of 1:53.62 has him seeded 11th entering the championship meet.
