Barfield, a senior public communication major, helped Buffalo State capture its first ever SUNYAC Championship in women's track and field at the indoor conference meet at Hobart/William Smith Colleges this past weekend.  Barfield won the lone individual title for the Bengals' women, claiming first in the long jump with a leap of 5.28m.  She was also sixth in the triple jump (10.61m).
