The sophomore business administration major became Buffalo State’s first swimming All-American in 40 years, earning the honor in three events at the championship meet in Greensboro, N.C. this past week.   Mergler finished fourth in the 100 free (44.30) and was sixth in the 50 free (20.45/20.25 in prelims), earning All-America status and setting school and SUNYAC records both events.  He also placed 16th in the 200 free (1:40.90), earning honorable mention All-America honors.
