BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (11-19/2-8) split a pair of matches to conclude the final day of the second round of SUNYAC Pool Play today at the Sports Arena, topping Morrisville State and falling to Geneseo.

The Bengals got past Morrisville in the opener, 25-18, 25-23, 19-25 and 21-25. Tanya Brady (Blasdell/Lakeshore) led Buffalo State with 10 kills. Katie Sember (Buffalo/Kenmore West) added eight kills and 3 aces, and Paige Ottaviano (Pt. Colborne, ON/Lakeshore Catholic) had 33 assists and three blocks.

Geneseo swept the Bengals in the late match, 25-20, 25-12 and 25-21. Buffalo State squandered a 13-4 advantage in the final set. Brady had five kills and five digs, Maria Schaffstall (Elma/Iroquois) had eight digs, and Ottaviano dished out 17 assists.

Buffalo State next travels to Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday.
