Jen Breier's head coaching debut was spoiled tonight as Buffalo State (0-2) opened the 2008 season at the Cortland Red Dragon Classic tonight with a pair of straight-set losses against Nazareth and New Paltz.

Nazareth claimed all three sets in the opening match, 25-13, 25-21 and 25-13.  Katelyn Grew (Lackawanna/Mt. Mercy) had five kills for the Bengals, and freshman Paige Ottaviano (Pt. Colborne, ON/Lakeshore Catholic) added 15 assists in her first collegiate match.

In the second match, the Bengals posted similar results, as New Paltz came out on top, 25-13, 25-21 and 25-17.  Maria Schaffstall (Elma/Iroquois) had 13 digs for Buffalo State.

The Bengals will continue at the Cortland Classic tomorrow at noon against another SUNYAC foe Plattsburgh.
