Fredonia swept the Bengals, 25-18, 25-14 and 25-19, in the opening match.
Katelyn Grew (Buffalo/Mt. Mercy) had seven kills for Buffalo State.
Paige Ottaviano (Pt. Colborne/Lakeshore Catholic) had 16 assists, and
Maria Schaffstall (Elma/Iroquois) chipped in nine digs.
Host Oswego bettered Buffalo State in the nightcap, 25-20, 25-16 and 25-12.
Tanya Brady (Blasdell/Lakeshore) had seven kills, and Ottaviano had 23 assists.
Buffalo State will wrap up the first round of SUNYAC Pool Play tomorrow with matches against Morrisville and Geneseo.
