OSWEGO, NY—Buffalo State (5-13/1-4) earned its first SUNYAC win of the season, sweeping Morrisville State, before falling to Geneseo on the final day of the opening round of SUNYAC Pool Play today at Oswego.
Buffalo State topped Morrisville, 28-26, 25-19 and 25-10 in the morning match.
Katie Sember (Buffalo/Kenmore West) paced the winning offense with 14 kills.
Paige Ottaviano (Pt. Colborne/Lakeshore Catholic) had 25 assists, and
Tanya Brady (Blasdell/Lakeshore) had 17 digs.
Geneseo defeated the Bengals in the final match, 25-14, 25-20 and 25-17. Sember had 13 kills, and Ottaviano dished out 19 assists.
Maria Schaffstall (Elma/Iroquois) chipped in 10 digs.
Buffalo State will host Medaille on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
