BUFFALO, NY—Joel Sheppard (Pefferlaw, ON/Sutton District) scored two goals, including the game winner, to lead Buffalo State (8-8-1) to a 4-1 win over visiting Johnson & Wales (6-7-2) in a non-conference game tonight at the Ice Arena.

D'Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright) had a goal and an assist. Shareef Labreche (Markham, ON/Markham District) added one goal. Jason Hill (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) tallied three assists, while Kevin Kozlowski (Lockport, NY/Starpoint), Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON/Waterloo Oxford), Joe Curry (Indian River, ON/Norwood District) and Cory Park (Mississauga, ON/St. Joseph) all chipped in on helper each.

The Bengals led just 1-0 after two periods of play before Johnson & Wales tied the game just two minutes into the third on a power play goal. Buffalo State responded, scoring three unanswered, including two in under five minutes.

Alan Fritch (Saginaw, MI/Heritage) stopped 31 shots to earn the win in net for Buffalo State.

Buffalo State will next host Potsdam and Plattsburgh in a pair of conference games on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
