BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (8-8-2/3-4-2) and Potsdam (5-9-4/2-4-3) netted four power-play goals each as the two teams skated to a 6-6 tie in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Ice Arena.
Defenseman
Kevin Kozlowski (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) scored twice for Buffalo State, and
Jason Hill (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) had a goal and three assists. Nick Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) and
Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON/Waterloo Oxford) each had a goal and an assist.
Kerry Barchan (Oakville, ON/Queen Elizabeth Park) also scored, and
Ryan Ramage (Ft. Erie, ON/Fort Erie), D'Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright) and
Joe Curry (Indian River, ON/Norwood District) all had two assists each.
After a 1-1 opening period, Buffalo State jumped out to a 3-1 second-period lead. Potsdam roared back with three goals in 2:02 to take its first lead, but the Bengals added a late goal to end the second period knotted at 4-4. Both teams added two more goals apiece in the third period. Potsdam scored twice in 52 seconds to take a 6-5 lead, but Buffalo State netted the equalizer just 1:09 later with just over seven minutes remaining in regulation. Potsdam outshot the Bengals, 36-24.
Buffalo State will host the No. 1-ranked team in the nation Plattsburgh tomorrow at 7 p.m. Potsdam will play at Fredonia.
