FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State (16-13/1-5) dropped a pair of straight-set matches to Geneseo and host Fredonia tonight to open the second round of SUNYAC Pool Play. 

The Bengals fell 25-18, 25-17 and 25-11 in the day's first match against Geneseo. Bree McMahon (Tonawanda/Sweet Home) had six kills and 18 digs to lead Buffalo State. Katelyn Grew (Lackawanna/Mt. Mercy) also had six kills and two block, and Danielle Aurellio-Clark (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) had 19 assists.

Fredonia swept the Bengals in the nightcap, 25-8, 25-14 and 25-17, officially eliminating Buffalo State from playoff contention. Grew and McMahon each had five kills, and McMahon added 15 digs. 

Buffalo State will wrap up its conference schedule tomorrow against Oswego and Brockport at noon and 2 p.m. respectively.
