GENEVA, NY—Hobart (1-0-1) erupted for a six-goal third period en route to a 9-1 victory over visiting Buffalo State (0-1-1) in the second half of a home-and-home series tonight at the Geneva Recreation Complex.

Hobart jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Bengals finally got on the scoreboard midway through the second period with a tally by Nicholas Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) with assists from Joel Sheppard (Pefferlaw, ON/Sutton District) and James Durham (Marilla, NY/St. Francis). Hobart completely took over in the third period, netting six goals in the final 20 minutes.

Hobart outshot the Bengals 47-28 and went 3 for 6 on the power play. Buffalo State was 0 for 3 with the man advantage.

Buffalo State will open SUNYAC play against Oswego next Friday at home at 7 p.m.
