CORTLAND, NY—Buffalo State (2-3) stunned perennial power Nazareth, winning in four sets after falling in three to Clarkson this morning to wrap up play at the Red Dragon Classic.

Clarkson raced past the Bengals in the morning match, 26-24, 25-18 and 25-13. Danielle Aurelio-Clark (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 16 assists, and Katie Sember (Buffalo/Kenmore West) and Sherrell McLean (Buffalo/City Honors) had four kills each. Bree McMahon (Tonawanda/Sweet Home) added 22 digs.

Buffalo State beat Nazareth 25-18, 25-21, 17-25 and 28-26 in the late match, posting the Bengals first win over the Golden Flyers in recent history. Aurelio-Clark had 29 assists, and Sember and McMahon had 11 kills each. Brittany Dorobiala (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 17 digs. 

Allyson Pierce (Olcott, NY/Newfane) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Buffalo State will next play at Medaille on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
