Antonio Samedi (St. Albans/Queens Vocational) recorded his first career triple double and set a school record for blocked shots in a game, elevating Buffalo State (4-5) over visiting D'Youville (3-10), 83-71, in a non-conference game tonight at the Sports Arena.
Samedi finished with a career-high 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots to lead the Bengal charge.
Jake Simmons (Rochester/School of the Arts) netted a game-high 26 points, including five 3-pointers.
Raysean Johnson (Buffalo/Grover Cleveland) led D'Youville with 17 points. Lionel Ellis (Bronx/St. Raymond's) and Eric Baylor (Buffalo/Riverside) added 15 points each.
D'Youville led 35-34 after a first half that featured six lead changes. The lead changed seven more times in the second half before Buffalo State took the lead for good at 53-50 with 10:59 remaining and pulled away for the win. Buffalo State finished with 13 blocked shots in the game and owned the rebounding battle by a margin of 43-30.
Buffalo State will travel to New Paltz on Friday for a SUNYAC game at 8 p.m.
