Buffalo State's women's volleyball team will join hundreds of other teams around the country, promoting Dig Pink Night to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer during its match on Tuesday, Oct. 12 vs. St. John Fisher at 7 p.m. at the Buffalo State Sports Arena.
Buffalo State will be selling Fowlers chocolates in the shape of ribbons for $3, as well as pink ribbons that people can wear on their shirt. Players from Buffalo State and St. John Fisher will be wearing pink ribbons, and the Bengals will also be wearing pink shirts for warm-ups.
Dig Pink is an initiative of the Side-Out Foundation is a non-profit , charitable organization formed in 2004 that has provided over $1 million toward breast cancer research. Its name underscores the purpose of the organization - to regain control over the opponent. Likewise in the war against breast cancer, the foundation hopes to enable women and men affected with the disease and regain control of their lives and live it to the fullest.
