(BOX SCORE)
BUFFALO, NY—Plattsburgh (11-2-1/5-2) earned its 11th win of the season in convincing fashion, downing host Buffalo State (2-11/0-6), 3-0, in a SUNYAC game today at Coyer Field.
Plattsburgh controlled play from the outset and converted a nifty deflection play on a long ball for a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute. Despite a more spirited effort from the Bengals in the second half, the Cardinals managed to score twice more to put the game out of reach.
Plattsburgh ended the game with a 19-6 edge in shots, including an 11-0 margin in the first half. The Cardinals also earned eight corner kicks, compared to just one by Buffalo State.
Brian Dudek (Niskayuna/Cheshire Academy) made seven stops between the pipes for the Bengals.
Buffalo State will look to snap its 10-game losing skid when it hosts Potsdam tomorrow at 1 p.m.
