(BOX SCORE)
BUFFALO, NY—Thomas Winski (Toronto, ON/Dante Alighieri) bent a shot inside the far left post with just 1:16 remaining in the second overtime to end Buffalo State's (3-11/1-6) 10-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over visiting Potsdam (2-12-1/1-7) in a SUNYAC game this afternoon at Coyer Field.
Potsdam opened the scoring in the eighth minute.
Thomas Karanas (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) evened the score in the 32nd minute with his first of two goals, capitalizing on a handball in the box and converting the penalty kick. The Bears took the lead again in the 68th minute, but Karanas knotted the score for the second time connecting on a bouncing ball from
Phil Pinzone (Buffalo/Kenmore East). Winski ended the game late, scoring on the Bengals' lone shot in extra time.
Shots for the game ended even at 13 apiece.
Brian Dudek (Niskayuna/Cheshire Academy) finished with five saves for Buffalo State.
The Bengals will travel to Nazareth for a non-conference game on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
