BRADFORD, PA— Jake Simmons (Rochester/School for the Arts) was 10 of 12 from the field and led five Bengal starters in double figures with 27 points as Buffalo State (3-0) defeated host Pitt-Bradford (1-3), 94-87, in a non-conference game tonight at KOA Arena.

Glenroy Carr (New York/Sweet Home) and Chris Cartwright (Binghamton/Binghamton) added 19 points. Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Timon) chipped in 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Norman Simmons (Rochester/East) had 10 points and four steals.

Pitt-Bradford jumped out to a 16-6 lead, but Buffalo State rallied and took a 38-34 lead into the intermission. The Bengals never trailed in the second half and led by as many as 11 before hanging on for the win.

Buffalo State will next open SUNYAC play on Friday, Dec. 3 at home against Cortland at 8 p.m.
