BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State's first appearance in the SUNYAC playoffs since 2002 ended in straight sets today in the quarterfinals when New Paltz (27-10) swept the Bengals (15-19) 25-22, 25-15 and 25-18 at Fredonia's Dods Hall.

Buffalo State opened the first set with on a 6-1 run, but the Hawks regrouped and took controf for the rest of the match.  Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) had a strong showing for Buffalo State with 19 digs, and Sherrell McLean (Buffalo/City Honors) had a team-high five kills, while Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo/City Honors) added 14 assists.  Allyson Pierce (Olcott/Newfane) added four kills and five blocks.

Buffalo State finished the season with 15 wins, giving it 34 over the past two years, marking the best two-year stretch for the program 2002-03.
