BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (1-0) netted a pair of first-half goals and coasted to a 2-0 win over host D'Youville (0-1) in the non-conference season opener tonight at Riverside High School.

Thomas Winski (Toronto, ON/Dante Alighieri) put the Bengals on the board in the 18th minute converting a breakaway off a through ball by Greg Anderson (Avondale, PA/Avon Grove). Dan Hranek (Lansing/Lansing) added a marker in the final minute of the first half with assists from Phil Pinzone (Buffalo/Kenmore East) and Thomas Karanas (Tonawanda/Tonawanda).

The Bengals outshot D'Youville 17-4. Brian Dudek (Niskayuna/Cheshire Academy) needed to make just three saves for the shutout.

Buffalo State will travel to Baltimore on the weekend for the Johns Hopkins Classic, and will meet the Blue Jays in the first game on Saturday at 7 p.m.
