BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (1-0) needed a little time to get going, but blasted host D'Youville (0-1) in four sets in the season-opener tonight, falling 9-25 in the first set before winning three-straight, 25-12, 25-17 and 25-16.

Allyson Pierce (Olcott/Newfane) led the Bengals with nine kills. Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo/City Honors) dished out 26 assists, and freshman Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) had 22 digs.

Buffalo State will visit Cortland this weekend for the Red Dragon Classic and open with the host school at 6 p.m. on Friday.
