Women’s Volleyball Falls to Baruch, Tops Old Westbury

PLATTSBURGH, NY—After dropping a straight-sets decision to Baruch, Buffalo State (7-5) bounced back with a four-set victory over Old Westbury today in the opening day of the Plattsburgh Cardinal Classic.

Baruch made quick work of the Bengals in the day's opening match, winning 25-14, 25-17 and 25-16. Stephanie Kazmierczak (Buffalo/City Honors) had 19 assists for the Bengals, and Sherrell McLean (Buffalo/City Honors) had nine kills.

The Bengals rebounded in the late match to better Old Westbury, 25-10, 25-16, 23-25 and 25-18. Allyson Pierce (Olcott/Newfane) had a team-high 15 kills, and Kazmierczak had 37 assists.

Buffalo State will continue play in the Plattsburgh Classic with a 10 a.m. match tomorrow against St. Lawrence.
