BUFFALO, NY—Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair) scored twice and Buffalo State (7-7-2) exploded with a four-goal third period in a 5-1 victory over Johnson & Wales (7-6-1) tonight at the Ice Arena.

Nicholas Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) added a goal and two assists, and Justin Knee (Centralia, ON/South Huron) and Eric Bajc (Buffalo/Lafayette) also scored for the Bengals. Sean Murray (Burlington, ON/Notre Dame) chipped in a pair of assists.

The Bengals tallied the game's first goal in the opening period, before Johnson & Wales pulled even with the only marker of the second stanza. Buffalo State blew the game open, however, with four in the third period. The Bengals final two goals came just 27 seconds apart, including Bajc's first career goal.

Buffalo State outshot the Wildcats, 31-21. Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) made 20 saves in the win.

Buffalo State and Johnson & Wales will square off again tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
