BUFFALO, NY--Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Timon) had 15 points and 11 rebounds and visiting Buffalo State (9-4/4-3) held on for an 83-81 victory at Potsdam (4-19/3-4) in a SUNYAC contest tonight at Maxcy Hall.

Jake Simmons (Rochester/School for the Arts) added 19 points, Glenroy Carr (New York/Sweet Home) scored 12, and Chris Cartwright (Binghamton/Binghamton) and Anthony Hamer (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) added 10 apiece.

Buffalo State led 40-37 at the intermission before Potsdam took reclaimed the lead early in the second half. The Bengals battled back and took the lead for good just past the halfway point of the second period. The Bengals led by seven with just over a minute remaining, and it was enough to withstand a late charge by the Bears.

Buffalo State will play at Plattsburgh tomorrow at 4 p.m.
