OSWEGO, NY— Oswego (13-3/9-1) shot 53-percent from the field and defeated visiting Buffalo State (10-6/5-5), 77-71, in a SUNYAC game at Max Ziel Gymnasium.

Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Timon) led the Bengals with 17 points, and Norman Simmons (Rochester/East) scored 15. Glenroy Carr (New York/Sweet Home) added 12 points and nine rebounds, and Nico McLean (Amherst/Amherst) added 11 points of the bench.

Oswego led 37-27 at the intermission. Buffalo State cut the deficit to two early in the second frame, but the Lakers pulled away again. The Bengals committed just eight turnovers, compared to 17 by Oswego, but Buffalo State shot just 38-percent from the field.

Buffalo State's Jake Simmons (Rochester/School for the Arts) and Chris Cartwright (Binghamton/Binghamton), who entered the game averaging more than 25 points-per-game, were limited to just 10 points tonight.

Buffalo State will visit Cortland tomorrow at 4 p.m.
