(BOX SCORE)

BUFFALO, NY—Oneonta (11-2-2/7-0-1) remained atop the SUNYAC standings with one game remaining, defeating host Buffalo State (6-8-2/1-7), 3-0, today at Coyer Field.

Buffalo State generated the best scoring chances in the opening minutes, but Oneonta broke through in the 31st minute on a long blast inside the right post by Eric Fortier.  The Red Dragons pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 39th minute when Alex Shkreli converted on a penalty kick after being pulled down from behind on a breakaway.

Oneonta continued to control play into the second half, and Daniel Josepher extended the advantage with the game's final goal in the 60th minute, netting a slicing shot from a bad angle.

Oneonta outshot Buffalo State, 15-7, for the game, and held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Ben Spillman (Queensbury/Glens Falls) had five stops in goal for the Bengals.  Max Siegelman and Daniel DeBottis combined to post the shutout for the Red Dragons without making a save.

Buffalo State will close out its season tomorrow against New Paltz at home at 1 p.m.
