Drew Klin (Lancaster/Lancaster) scored twice and added an assists for Buffalo State (1-1/1-1) as the Bengals blasted host Brockport (0-2-1/0-1-1), 8-1, in a SUNYAC game tonight at Tuttle North Ice Arena.
Mike Zannella (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) scored twice, while
Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair) chipped in a goal and a helper.
Mac Balson (Lakefield, ON/Adam Scott CVI),
Tyler Nelson (Jameston, NY/Falconer) and
Elijah Cohen (Peabody, MA/Peabody Veterans) also scored for Buffalo State.
Justin Knee (Centralia, ON/South Huron) finished with two assists, while
Shane Avery (Fort Covington, NY/Salmon River) and
Zach Hale (Sandy, UT) had two assists each.
Brockport got on the board first, scoring in the 7th minute of the first period before Buffalo State rattled off eight unanswered markers. The teams went into the first intermission tied 1-1, but the Bengals scored three in the second period and four in the third stanza to complete all scoring.
The Bengals peppered the Golden Eagles net with 36 shots, compared to Brockport's 23. Buffalo State was 3 for 8 with the man advantage and also recorded a shorthanded tally.
Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) turned aside 22 shots between the pipes to record his first win of the season.
Buffalo State travels to Morrisville for another SUNYAC game Saturday at 7 p.m.
