BUFFALO, NY—Max Schmitt tallied a goal and an assist to lead Cortland (2-5-5/1-2-2) to its first SUNYAC win of the season as the Red Dragons blanked Buffalo State (5-4-2/0-4), 2-0, in a game today at Coyer Field.

The teams played 72 minutes of scoreless soccer until Schmitt got Cortland on the board at 72:21 mark of the second half.  Steffen Jude added to the Red Dragons lead when he converted on a through ball from Schmitt.  E.J. Reutemann also picked up an assist for Cortland. 

Cortland outshot the Bengals, 15-9, and finished with a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.  Ben Spilman (Queensbury/Glens Falls) had five saves in the loss, while Cortland's Tim Beauvais finished with three. 

Buffalo State will host Oswego tomorrow at 1 p.m.
