BUFFALO, NY—Freshman Roderick Epps (Uniondale/Uniondale) and Maurice Miles (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) combined to score 35 points to lead No. 21 Buffalo State (7-1) to a 108-78 victory over visiting Keuka (1-7) in the opening night of the Coles Classic tonight at the Sports Arena.  Capital (5-4) dropped Morrisville State (3-6), 77-70, in the opening game.

Epps scored a game-high 20 points on 7 of 10 shooting, while Miles shot 6 of 9 for 15 points.  Jake Simmons (Rochester/School of the Arts) added 17 points, with 16 in the first half, Nico McLean (Amherst/Amherst) chipped in 10.

Anthony Ordonez (Pt. Chester/Pt. Chester) and Tyler Hixon (Shortsville/Red Jacket) led Keuka with 15 points each.  Coty Paige (Rochester/Greece-Arcadia) added 14 points and nine rebounds, and Teddy Tuggles (Rochester/Gates-Chili) had 10 points and eight boards.

Buffalo State scored the first 12 points of the game and Keuka never threatened the rest of the way.  The Bengals led 55-37 at the intermission, continued to pull away in the second half.  The Bengals shot 53-percent from the field for the game, including hitting 11 of 21 from long range.  The Storm shot 41-percent from the floor, and hit 23 of 27 from the charity stripe.  The Bengals were 15 of 25 from the line.

In the first game, Tim Congrove (Circleville, OH/Logan Elm) netted a game-high 21 points off the bench to lift Capital to the victory.  Michael Sommer (Celina, OH/Celina) added 18 points and five assists, and Kelly Winter (Dublin, OH/Scioto) had 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Crusaders.

Mickey Davis (Syracuse/Jamesville-Dewitt) and Brandon Hanks (Syracuse/Henninger) each tallied 18 points to lead Morrisville.

Capital jumped out to an early 14-4 lead, but Morrisville battled back and led 34-31 at the intermission.  The Mustangs led again 60-56 with 4:59 remaining, but Capital used a 10-0 run to reclaim the lead and held on for the win.  The Crusaders hit 12 of 33 from 3-point range, outscoring Morrisville, 36-21, from long range. 

Buffalo State will face Capital in tomorrow's championship game at 4 p.m.  Keuka and Morrisville State will meet in the consolation game at 2 p.m.
