GENESEO, NY—No. 7 Geneseo (15-5-2/9-3-1) went 3 for 4 on the power play in the second period and defeated Buffalo State (9-10-3/5-5-3), 3-2, in a SUNYAC game tonight at Ira S. Wilson Arena.

Dave Lansdowne (Toronto, ON/Leaside) and Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair) scored for the Bengals. Mac Balson (Lakefield, ON/Adam Scott CVI) and Justin Knee (Centralia, ON/South Huron) chipped in one assist each.

All five goals were scored in the second stanza, as Geneseo tallied its first two goals in the first minute and 16 seconds of play. The Bengals pulled even at 2-2 with a pair of quick goals of their own, scoring at 5:47 and 8:33. The Blue Knights, however, tacked on their final special teams goal of the night with less than a minute and half to play before intermission to regain the lead.

Geneseo outshot Buffalo State, 34-23. Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) had 31 saves in the loss. 

Buffalo State will host Plattsburgh Friday at 7 p.m.
