CAZENOVIA, NY—
Andrew Dugan's (Schenectady/Colonie) goal in the 76th minute pushed visiting Buffalo State (4-0-1) past Cazenovia (1-4) 2-1 in a non-conference game this afternoon.
Buffalo State remained unbeaten on the season, despite having its shutout streak snapped at 358 minutes, 52 seconds.
Tony Schiappa (Williamsville/Williamsville East) opened the scoring for the Bengals in the 29th minute, but Cazenovia evened the score just over five minutes later. Schiappa also assisted on Dugan's game-winning tally in the second half to give Buffalo State the win.
Cazenovia outshot the Bengals 15-11, but the Bengals held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Ben Spilman (Queensbury/Glens Falls) made six saves in the win for Buffalo State. Spilman's personal shutout streak ended at 313 minutes, 52 seconds.
Buffalo State will next make the short trip to Hilbert on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
