BUFFALO, NY—Evan Johnson (Cheektowaga/W. Seneca Christian) scored twice and Buffalo State (2-0) cruised to a 6-0 win over visiting D'Youville (1-2) in a non-conference game today at Coyer Field.

Five different Bengals scored in a span of 27:44 in the first half and the Bengals coasted to the convincing win. Marikos Habtemichael (Rochester/Wilson Magnet) had a goal and an assist, and Fonso Bennett-Williams (London, England), Kirk Love (Hamburg/Frontier), and Andrew Dugan (Schenectady/Colonie) added single markers. Tony Schiappa (Williamsville/Williamsville East) dished out three assists, and Thomas Karanas (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) had a pair of helpers.

The Bengals controlled the game from the opening whistle, outshooting the Spartans 21-4. Ben Spilman (Queensbury/Glens Falls) and Neil Byrne (Hamburg/Hamburg) each played a half, with Byrne making the only save necessary in the second period.

Buffalo State will compete in the Fredonia Classic this weekend, opening against Houghton on Friday at 3 p.m.
