Nico McLean's (Amherst/Amherst) 17 points led four Bengals in double-figures as Buffalo State (12-3/5-3) cruised past visiting Potsdam (4-11/2-6), 86-63, in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Sports Arena.
Mclean added four assists and four steals for Buffalo State.
Jake Simmons (Rochester/School of the Arts) added 16 points, while
Roderick Epps (Uniondale/Uniondale) and
Stephen Alexander (Rosedale/Flushing) poured in 12 and 10 respectively.
Ahmed Nagaya (Bronx/Astor Collegiate) chipped in eight points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Curtis Pierce (Brooklyn/Westinghouse) was the top scorer for Potsdam with 14 points, and Rob Duquette (Peru/Peru) added nine points.
The Bengals used a 22-7 run midway through the opening period and held a 45-28 advantage at the intermission. Buffalo State continued to pull away in the second half and claimed the convincing win to snap a two-game losing skid.
The Bengals had 10 players score and the team shot 49-percent from the field. Buffalo State outscored Potsdam, 30-3, from 3-point range.
Buffalo State host Plattsburgh tomorrow for another league game at 4 p.m.
