Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Eduardo Figueroa netted a hat trick to lift visiting Potsdam (3-8-2/1-3-2) to its first SUNYAC win of the season, defeating Buffalo State (1-11-1/0-5-1), 4-3, today at Coyer Field.

After Figueroa opened the scoring on a penalty kick just 6:44 into the game, Buffalo State pulled even in the 19th minute on a header off a corner kick by Anthony Appiani (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda).  The goal finally snapped the Bengals' scoreless drought at 652 minutes and 44 seconds. 

Buffalo State controlled the play for most of the first half, and took a 2-1 lead into the intermission after Chris Haney (Williamsville/Williamsville East) scored in the 41st minute. 

Potsdam came out flying in the second half, however, scoring the next three goals, including a pair just under three minutes apart in the 47th and 50th minutes.  Buffalo State cut the deficit to 4-3 with a nifty header goal by Andrew Dugan (Schenectady/Colonie) with 3:43 remaining, but the Bengals could not find the equalizer.

C.J. Scirto (Lockport/St. Joe's) had a pair of assists for Buffalo State, and Manny Lukwiya (Tonawanda/Schreiber) also added a helper. 

Buffalo State had a 20-17 edge in shot attempts, but the Bears held a 14-5 advantage in shots on goal.  Ian Huntoon (Stamford, CT/West Hill) finished with 10 saves for the Bengals.

Buffalo State will celebrate senior day tomorrow when it hosts Plattsburgh at 1 p.m. for its final home game of the season.
