BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (19-6) dropped a three-set match to Daemen (16-5) to open the day, but bounced back with a straight-set victory over St. John Fisher (4-16) to bookend a tri-match today at the Sports Arena.

Daemen edged Buffalo State in the morning match 28-26 and 25-23 in the first two sets, and then won the clincher, 25-9.  Sam Parente (E. Patchogue/Bellport) and Sherrell McLean (Buffalo/City Honors) led Buffalo State with eight kills each, and Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) had 28 assists and 15 digs.  Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) chipped in 26 digs.

The Bengals cruised past the Cardinals in the late match, winning 25-10, 25-18 and 25-16.  Parente had a team-high nine kills for Buffalo State, while Bashore and Hannah Santoro (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 13 and 11 kills respectively.  Moore added 18 digs.

Daemen defeated Fisher, 25-10, 29-27 and 25-18 in the middle match of the day.

Buffalo State will make the short drive down the Scajaquada Expressway on Tuesday night to play Medaille in another non-conference match.
