FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State (20-7/4-0) opened the second round of SUNYAC pool play with a 3-1 victory over host Fredonia (14-3/2-3), winning 19-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22.

With the win, the Bengals secured the top seed in the West Division and the right to host the SUNYAC Championships Nov. 2-4.

Sarah Horvath (Blasdell/Immaculata) and Hannah Renaldo (North Collins/North Collins) lead the Bengals' attack with seven kills apiece.  Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) dished out 25 assists, while Rachelle Kelchlin (West Seneca/St. Mary's) and Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) finished with 16 and 26 digs, respectively. 

Buffalo State will close out pool play with matches against Oswego and Brockport tomorrow at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
