FREDONIA, NY—Buffalo State (22-8/6-0) completed a perfect SUNYAC regular season for the first time in school history, sweeping the competition in the final day of SUNYAC Pool Play at Fredonia today, cruising past Oswego (11-16/2-4) and Brockport (6-21/0-6).

The Bengals rolled Oswego 25-19, 25-17 and 25-15 in the morning match.  Sam Parente (E. Patchogue/Bellport) led the attack once again with 11 kills.  Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) dished out 27 assists and added a pair of aces.  Sherrell McLean (Buffalo/City Honors) chipped in five kills and four blocks, and freshman Kayla Pyc (Grand Island/Grand Island) had six kills, two aces and two blocks.

Buffalo State then dropped Brockport, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-23.  Pyc paced a balanced offense with eight kills.  McLean and Jennifer Cecchettini (Hamburg/Frontier) had seven kills each.  Bashore pitched in 26 assists and nine digs.
Buffalo State will celebrate “Senior Day” with its final regular season home match against Penn State Behrend on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

By virtue of finishing first in the SUNYAC West, the Bengals will host the SUNYAC Championships on Nov. 2-4.  The Bengals will receive a bye through Friday's quarterfinals and will play its semifinal match at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3.
