BUFFALO, NY—
Chelsea Moore (Kemore/Kemore West) recorded 36 digs and in the process set a new school single-season record as Buffalo State (23-7) rallied against Penn State Behrend (17-8) winning a five-set decision tonight at the Sports Arena.
With today's match, Moore brought her season total to 710 digs, surpassing the old mark of 692.
After winning the first set, 25-18, the Bengals dropped sets two and three, 19-25 and 18-25, but managed to come back and win the final two frames, 28-26 and 15-13.
Sherrell McLean (Buffalo/City Honors) paced the Bengals with 15 kills and Kelsey Bayshore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) dished out 48 assists.
Sarah Horvath (Blasdell/Immaculata) and
Sam Parente (E. Patchogue/Bellport) bolstered Buffalo State's attack with 10 and 12 kills, respectively.
Buffalo State closes out its regular season on the road at the Oberlin Tournament on Friday with matches against the host school and Ohio Wesleyan at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
