Box Score FROSTBURG, Md.—Buffalo State (0-2) recorded two first-half goals, but Saint Vincent (1-1) rallied to defeat the Bengals in overtime, 3-2, in the consolation game of the Frostburg Tournament this afternoon.
Cary Reifschneider (Oneida/Oneida) recorded his first collegiate goal just 3:48 into the game off an assist from
C.J. Scirto (Lockport/St. Joe's). The Bearcats scored just over eight minutes later, before
Jake Reed (Bemus Point/St. Mary's (Pa.)) gave Buffalo State its second lead of the contest when he beat a defender in the box late in the first half.
The Bearcats tied the game in the 87th minute to force the extra period and scored the game-winner with 1:38 on the clock after an
Ian Huntoon (Stamford, CT/West Hill) clear deflected off a Saint Vincent player.
The Bearcats finished with a 10-6 advantage in shots and Huntoon made five saves for Buffalo State.
The Bengals will next play Houghton at the Fredonia Classic on Friday at 3 p.m.
