BUFFALO, NY— Kevin Carr (Uniondale, ON/Uniondale) made 46 saves and Buffalo State (6-7-2) skated to a 2-2 tie against visiting St. Anselm (7-2-2) in a non-conference game this afternoon at the Ice Arena.

Nick Melligan (Sanborn/Niagara-Wheatfield) had a goal and an assist for the Bengals, and Trevor McKinney (Oakwood, ON/Sinclair) also scored for Buffalo State.

The Bengals broke the scoreless tie early in the second period when McKinney batted a rebound out of midair into the back of the net for his eighth goal of the season on the power play.  The Hawks evened the score less than two minutes later, however, converting on a 5-on-3 advantage.  Melligan's seventh goal of the season gave the Bengals the lead again with 8:32 remaining, but St. Anselm was able to even the score again with less than five minutes left to complete the scoring.

St. Anselm maintained a 48-37 advantage in shots as both teams generated a number of quality scoring chances.  The Bengals finished 1 for 5 on the power play, while the Hawks were 1 for 6.

Buffalo State will next host a pair of non-conference games against Johnson & Wales next Friday and Saturday.
