Women’s Volleyball Sweeps UM-Dearborn, Falls to No. 8 Wash U. to End Regular Season

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Buffalo State (23-9) defeated the University of Michigan-Dearborn (10-30) in straight sets, before dropping a three-set decision to nationally-ranked No. 8 Washington University (Mo.) (22-5) on its home court today in the Bears Invitational.

The Bengals defeated NAIA member UM-Dearborn, 26-24, 25-18 and 25-16 in the morning match. Jessica Crooks (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) pounded out 12 kills and added three blocks to lead Buffalo State's attack. Hannah Renaldo (N. Collins/N. Collins) chipped in 10 kills, while Kelsey Bashore (Antwerp, OH/Antwerp) had 37 assists, and Chelsea Moore (Kenmore/Kenmore West) added 18 digs.

Wash U. overpowered the Bengals in the late match, hitting 31-percent and winning 25-10, 25-19 and 25-22. Samantha Parente (E. Patchogue/Bellport) led Buffalo State with 12 kills, and Bashore had 22 assists and 15 digs.

Bashore and Parente were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Buffalo State will next face the winner of No. 3-seeded Fredonia and No. 6 Cortland in the SUNYAC semifinals next Saturday at 3 p.m. at New Paltz.
