Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Shane Avery (Fort Covington, NY/Salmon River) netted his first of the season and tied the game with 58 seconds remaining to force overtime as Buffalo State (3-2-2/3-2-2) and Fredonia (2-4-1/2-2-1) skated to a 4-4 tie in a SUNYAC game tonight at the Ice Arena.

Dan Turgeon (Centennial, CO/Cherokee Trail) had a goal and three assists for the Bengals. Fredonia responded with a pair of even-strength goals at 4:11 and 11:32 of the second, but the Bengals would answer with another power play marker seven minutes later to even things at 2-2. The Blue Devils scored back-to-back goals in the third but Buffalo State rallied again, when Rossi scored his fourth of the season at 14:30 and Avery netted the game-tying goal after the Bengals pulled goaltender Kevin Carr (Unionville, ON/Unionville) to give the extra attacker. Neither team was able to convert in the extra period, with Fredonia outshooting Buffalo State, 2-1 in overtime.

Fredonia outshot the Bengals, 40-29, and Carr had 36 saves between the pipes. Buffalo State was 3 for 9 on the power play, while the Blue Devils finished 2 for 6 with the extra skater.

Buffalo State will next compete at the Skidmore Invitational and play Elmira next Saturday at 5 p.m.
