Box Score BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (3-3/1-0) used a fast start and cruised to a convincing 89-68 victory over visiting Oneonta (1-4/0-1) in tonight's SUNYAC season-opener at the Sports Arena.
Justin Mitchell (Buffalo/Timon) led the Bengals with 27 points and 12 rebounds.
Roderick Epps (Uniondale/Uniondale) added 17 points, and freshman
Jordan Glover (Buffalo/St. Joe's) found his way into double figures for the first time with 11 points.
Lovell Smith (Buffalo/McKinley) added 10 points, and
Bradley Doyley (Brooklyn/Sports Management HS) had eight assists to go with five points and five rebounds.
Buffalo State scored the first seven points of the game and never looked back. The Bengals led by as many as 30 points in the first half before taking a 47-25 lead into the intermission. Oneonta never threatened in the second half.
The Bengals had 18 points on the fast break, compared to two by Oneonta as the Red Dragons were unable to match the Bengals' speed. Buffalo State also shot 55-percent from the field, while Oneonta connected on just 37-percent of its field goal attempts.
Buffalo State will host another conference game tomorrow against New Paltz at 4 p.m.
